  1. May be confusing to some producers at first

  2. Paid service, so costs money
  3. Internet connection needed to use

With this covered, let's get into our Loopcloud review!

What  Exactly is Loopcloud?

Loopcloud is a subscription service that provides over 4 million samples from its Loopmasters catalog!

It has new search tools that can find you matching sounds as well as similar samples.

These new features combined with included plug-ins and the ability to edit before buying!

These make Loopcloud one of the best subscription services on the market today.

The Loopcloud software is accessible via their excellent desktop app or tablet software.

The sample management software is amazing. It's well-designed and contains numerous features that I never imagined.

Here are screenshots from the Loopcloud Desktop. 👇

At an initial glance, it seems like a complex interface, but the interface is quite intuitive and easy to understand.

Loopcloud also doesn't have any problems showing off its ever-growing list of artist testimonials that are enjoying the Loopcloud plugin.

Loopcloud Prince (Updated 2024)

Loopcloud is a service that costs money – but how much?

Loopcloud's lowest-paid subscription currently costs $7.99 per month, In addition to the 100 points per month for MIDI files and plugins.

Fortunately, Loopcloud has many plans.

If something doesn't work for you there are other options.

Here's the exact pricing for all of Loopcloud's plans:

Plan Price Credits Storage
Free Plan $0.00 5 0GB
Artist Plan $7.99 100 5GB
Studio Plan $13.99 300 50GB
Professional Plan $21.99 600 250GB

On top of this, you will receive even greater discounts if you subscribe to an annual subscription.

Both paid and free editions include daily samples which can be downloaded for free and can be downloaded for your project.

It is also possible to purchase additional points for the month when the quota of points has been exceeded.

No matter which Loopcloud subscription you choose, you'll most likely be very satisfied.

How Long Is The Loopcloud Trial?

Loopcloud has an awesome trial period – how long does it last?

Loopcloud's free trial is available for 30 days. You won't be charged until after your free month, which you can cancel at any time to keep all sounds that are included as part of a subscription.

Talk about a good product!

You have the liberty to try all the different services offered here and learn if Loopcloud is fit for you.

Loopcloud Plugins: Review

The Loopcloud application is self-contained and the main location for all the action.

It integrates with your DAW via its partner plug-in, which handles audio routing and tempo/time signature sync.

This means you find loops within the app and then drag them into your DAW when ready!

Traditionally, this has been a more complex process involving downloading files to specific locations that were harder to manage or navigate through - not so with Loopcloud!

Stock Plugins: Loopcloud Drum And Loopcloud Play

Loopcloud Drum is an awesome sampling plug-in for drums.

Loopcloud includes several free kits from its box, but you may buy several more online.

This is an interesting program to learn about drums.

I really enjoyed the Carl Cox drum kit within the drum plugin.

Loopcloud Play enables you to play virtual instruments on Loopcloud like guitars, keyboard horn guitars, and other musical instruments.

There are some excellent alternatives available for free of charge that allow a user to purchase even more.

Submit your song, if I like it then I'll add it to my Spotify playlist.

Loopcloud's Plugin Abilities

The wide-ranging examples included for free demonstrate how you might integrate it into your productions, particularly if you’re looking beyond self-contained loops.

The Get More button takes you to the Loopcloud Software Browser where these additional packs can be bought in addition to those already offered when downloading the plug-in.

Both of these plugins have editing and customization options that outperform many third-party products.

Play has an easy view which allows broad changes while Edit reveals comprehensive synth and effect sections.

Loopcloud's Epic Sample Editor

The sample editor is a helpful tool!

What does the Loopcloud sample editor do?

Loopcloud's sample editor helps to increase your workflow and productivity– giving you the ability to see how sounds would work in context with your track.

You're able to preview them extensively before using any credits.

3 Awesome features in Loopcloud'd Sample Editor:

  1. Previous up to 8 tracks
  2. Change BPM & Pitch
  3. Split, cut, and off FX

These alone make Loopcloud worth the purchase.

#1. Preview Up To 8 Tracks

Load 8 of any sample into the different track slots to start stacking & hearing how stuff sounds together, before using your plan’s credits.

#2. Change BPM & Pitch

Using this, you can change the speed and pitch of any sample inside the Sample Editor. This can be done with preview sounds that you haven’t yet used credits on.

#3. Split, Cut And Add FX

Inside the Sample Editor, you are also able to cut (remove sections from a sound), move (move sections around), or add effects like delays or reverbs to preview sounds before spending credits.

This by the way helps massively not only with creativity but workflow as well; helping one get the most out of their plan type in Loopcloud.

Are Splice & Loopcloud better than Sample Packs?

Splice and Loopcloud are certainly better than buying sample packs.

Usually, sample pack creators stuff their packs with multiple samples that are very similar to each other, just to inflate the price of the full sample pack.

With sample libraries, you can sift through the pack to grab the high-quality samples you actually need.

The two can easily be purchased separately from each other.

One thing you could try is to grab the free trial option for Splice or Loopcloud for 1-2 months.

Check out the sounds in the pack and choose the best.

Getting the free version of Splice or Loopcloud is a great jumping-off point to get your feet wet in the "sample library cloud" world.

Is Splice & Loopcloud royalty free?

Samples on Splice & Loopcloud are completely royalty-free.

You can monetize any projects you create with the sounds.

When composing music for distribution to major platforms or for a sync license deal, using royalty-free samples is your best bet.

Can you use Loopcloud for free?

Unlike any of the other sample libraries, the thing that makes Loopcloud so great is that yes, you can actually use it for free.

You'll get a free sample every day from Loopcloud, which amounts to 30 free samples every month!

This comes without having to actually pay for a monthly subscription.

Loopcloud samples are awesome because you'll be able to use them in the sample editor even in the free version.

Loopcloud refers to themselves as more than just a sample library, and they aren't kidding.

Can You Use Your Own Samples With Loopcloud?

How do you manage samples on Loopcloud?

Loopcloud allows you to manage your own personal sample collection from inside your DAW, in the Loopcloud plugin.

So if you have sample packs that you've downloaded elsewhere, you can tag and organize them how you see fit.

I found this rather useful, as I had a ton of packs I had acquired from years past, and having everything in one spot was handy.

I enjoyed the fact that I could have my new samples (from Loopmasters samples) right alongside my existing library.

Storing Your Samples Using Cloud Storage

As mentioned above, you can use the Loopcloud app to store all your existing sample packs.

The best part about this however is the cloud storage aspect.

You can download your old samples later on or transfer them between devices.

This becomes an especially convenient feature when switching computers or going to a studio session.

You can access all your files if you have an internet connection.

No more needing an external drive with you.

You can also set Loopcloud to automatically back up and save your project files which is something we found super helpful as we've heard plenty of horror stories of hard drives failing.

There's no need to lose your precious project files any longer!

Loopcloud AI Suggests Complementary Sounds

One of the most notable new features in this latest version is harmonic and rhythmic sound matching.

Select a sound you like and an AI algorithm will search through both your own sample collection, as well as the entire Loopcloud library to find sounds that fit with it.

I found the rhythmic matches to be especially helpful, and here's why...

When I wanted to find samples in the past with Splice, I'd often overlook the ability to choose a BPM range.

The Goal To Sort All The Sounds In A Tailored Fashion

So, what does the artificial intelligence feature actually do?

It extends the basic name or tag-based approach and allows you to look for harmonic matches, rhythmic matches' or similar sounds (courtesy of music AI specialists Jamahook).

This is a very effective way of hunting down loops that might work together but originate from different genres.

You can even include your own sample collection in the searches.

Splice offers a similar function via its Similar Sounds function.

Loopcloud's AI will surface melodic loops in different keys and with different instrumentation that somehow work together.

We found that Rhythmic matching also works well between instrumental loops, though sometimes the options are too broad to be perfect every time.

Overall, the goal here is to improve the search function of the loopmasters library, to help you find that perfect sample at the perfect moment in your track.

Just watch this below. 👇

Some samples such as one shot (individual kicks, percussion, guitar notes, etc...) have no need for any AI sample suggestion.

However, great samples are often not found due to the enormous library...

So this feature hopes to find the needle in the haystack.

Loopcloud's software is at the point where I believe it will continue to get better at AI suggestion in the years to come, and I can see a plethora of music producers relying on this feature in their everyday music-making workflow.

Is It Easy to Navigating Through The Sample Library?

The Loopcloud application has a great, broad set of capabilities.

Keyword and text searching are very straightforward, allowing you to find loops based on genre, instrument label file name BPM, or key.

On top of this, the newest version of Loopcloud lets you audition up to 8 loops simultaneously all with the automatic tempo-matching feature mentioned above.

You can also alter the pitch edit the sample and even apply a range of effects processing before exporting the sample (or when buying it).

The process is transparent and intuitive which makes it much easier than ever before to personalize samples!

Should I download Splice or LoopCloud?

In our opinion, we believe that the needs are distinctly different.

I would take Loopcloud if I only could choose one of the two.

I'd choose Splice because it has such a large library and is capable of finding exactly what you want.

However, I'd choose Loopcloud if I want even more control over your samples.

After all, Loopcloud is Splice's most prominent competitor, with Splice following closely behind.

As far as the width and depth of content goes, though, they're pretty different.

Splice vs Loopcloud (Quick Verdict)

Loopcloud vs Splice is perhaps the sample manager battle of the century, and frankly, we get asked this a lot...

"What is the best sample manager?"

Well, here's a quick breakdown of both sample managers so that you can make an informed decision.

Splice leans more towards those looking for specific sounds from a certain name producer while also having a wide range of genre-based packs.

They offer a rent-to-own option to third-party plug-ins but don't currently provide much in terms of auditioning or editing freedom - something that Loopcloud does have going for it better than any other service available on the market today!

This makes us believe that for now, Loopcloud is just about the best choice there can be when it comes to creativity and quality production skills in this area!

Either way, we believe you'll be happy with either.

However, if you plan on just using a few samples, the free version from Loopcloud is the way to go.

I'd definitely recommend checking out our Splice review if you're curious about which will be best for you!

Submit your song, if I like it then I'll add it to my Spotify playlist.

So Then... Is Loopcloud Any Good?

Now, here's the final thought on Loopcloud.

TLDR: Loopcloud is a must-try for producers who use samples of any kind.

The latest version which features new AI search tools that let you find harmonic/rhythmic matches or similar sounds makes Loopcloud the top dog in the sample service world.
